As-of date, latest source filing, and freshness
How to tell how current the data you're looking at is.
What this does
Research figures show two dates: the as-of date (when the figure was calculated) and, where relevant, the latest source filing it draws from (the most recent public filing feeding into it).
What you'll see
Public companies file financial reports periodically, not continuously -- so it's normal for the latest source filing to be weeks or months old even when the as-of date is recent. Price-derived figures update far more often than filing-derived ones.
