Understanding SEC filings and earnings reports
What 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings are, and how this platform presents them.
What this does
Filings & Earnings shows a timeline of a company's recent SEC filings -- the same public record available on SEC EDGAR, organized for quick scanning with a direct link to the authoritative source.
When to use it
Use it to see what a company has recently reported, and to jump straight to the real filing on SEC.gov instead of searching EDGAR yourself.
How to do it
- Open a company's Research page.
- Scroll to Filings & Earnings.
- Click View on SEC.gov to read the actual filing.
- For a 10-K or 10-Q, click View financial trends to see how the reported numbers have moved over time.
What you'll see
10-K: the company's Annual report, covering a full fiscal year. 10-Q: the company's Quarterly report, covering one fiscal quarter. 8-K: a Current report, filed when a company discloses a specific event between regular reports. "Filed" is when the document became public -- the reporting period (e.g. "Q2 2026") is the time span the filing covers, a different date, always shown separately, never combined.
If something goes wrong
Filings can appear before or after other research data on this platform updates, since different data is processed on different schedules -- this is normal, not an error. If filings don't load at all, try again; a temporary data issue is the most common cause. This platform does not interpret any filing as positive or negative -- it shows what was filed and when, never a judgment about the results.
